WavePrint

Wavefront is a custom technology which creates a three-dimensional map of your cornea and is used to guide your laser vision correction procedure. The WavePrint System is a brand name of wavefront technology, a technique modified from astronomers. They used the technology to see the stars more clearly by mapping the aberrations (distortions) caused by the earth's constantly changing atmosphere. When used in ophthalmology, wavefront technology allows customized mapping of the optic aberrations (distortions which cause a blurry image) of the cornea. The WavePrint System generates a customized map of the optical distortions in your cornea.

This system allows your doctor to create an individualized treatment plan for you which is tailored to your unique vision errors. These errors are then treated using the wavefront guided laser, giving you a customized individual treatment which corrects more than the standard errors of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), or astigmatism (irregularly shaped eye which causes blurred or double vision). Now additional individual be corrected, giving you clearer, sharper vision results.

Crystalens IOLs

Crystalens is a brand name of a type of intraocular lens (IOL) or artificial eye lens. These are known as accommodative IOLs because they accommodate your eye when it focuses on objects at varying distances.

These have only one focal point, but they act as if they are multifocal. The reason is that they have a hinge which mimics the mechanics of your natural lens. When your eye focuses with the artificial accommodative lens in it, it focuses by using your eye's muscles to shift the lens by using the hinge to bring things into focus from various distances. If you have this type of IOL implanted, you reduce or eliminate your need to depend on corrective contacts or glasses.

"My vision is actually
better than 20 20"

"It was like a miracle - when I left Dr. Davidorf's office the day of my surgery, I could see right away. When I woke up the next morning I could see the alarm clock. While travelling with my band in Tokyo I spotted a McDonald's sign from a mile away. Our tour manager was very impressed. My vision is actually better than 20 20."
