LASIK; Safe & Satisfying For U.S. Navy Flyers
The U.S. Military has performed over 224,000 LASIK Procedures
A RECENT CLINICAL STUDY PRESENTED AT THE American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery reveals excellent visual outcomes and high patient satisfaction among U.S. Navy aviators who have had LASIK.
Active military personnel must be able to perform their duties at an extremely high level. These duties include; flying high-performance aircraft, landing on aircraft carriers at night and jumping from airplanes. They also use weapons and goggles equipped with special optics. However, military personnel are prohibited from wearing contact lenses.
Dr. Jonathan Davidorf has performed LASIK on many service men and women currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. “LASIK provides an ideal solution for military personnel,” Dr. Davidorf states. “The procedure is safer and more precise than ever before and allows freedom from the dependence on glasses and contact lenses.”
