Seatbelts and Eye Injuries

A recent article appeared in the Journal Ophthalmology examining the impact of seatbelt use on eye injuries and vision outcomes following motor vehicle accidents in which the airbag deployed (Rao et.al). The results of the study suggest that an individual is much less likely to suffer a serious eye injury when the airbag deploys if they are wearing a seatbelt. Yet another reason to “buckle up.”
